lie to yourself about having have a dry January, then grab a blanket, a LaCroix and get ready to binge watch these shows and movies this weekend!
This 8 episode show is an anthology series based on the weekly column published by The New York Times. Modern Love explores all of the beautiful yet complicated forms of love; you will laugh, you will cry, you will feel uplifted, and you will be ready to pour tons of love out to the world once you’re done with this show. #BabesTip: check out the Modern Love book and podcast once you’ve watched it!
Brittany Runs a Marathon
Are your New Year’s resolutions focused on your health and/or losing weight? Check out this inspiring movie about a gal who goes from being unemployed, unhealthy, and unmotivated to running the New York City marathon, making friends along the way and ultimately, changing her outlook on life! If you need that extra push to start working out or focusing on something you’ve always wanted to do, watch this movie.
You (Season 2)
If you haven’t watched season 1 of You then
omg what are you doing with your life I suggest you start with that first. You is back and creepier than ever y’all! I will avoid spoilers and just tell you that Joe will shock you from episode 1 of this season. Grab some Skinny Pop and enjoy the show.
If you love TV shows like Narcos, this one is for you! Monarca is a show about a very wealthy Mexican family with a tequila empire who begins to struggle with managing their company due to corruption, secrets and cartels. This Netflix original series was produced by badass babe, Salma Hayek, and I recommend you set an entire day with no commitments aside to watch it. Trust me, you won’t be able to step away from your TV!
The Sun is Also a Star
Get ready to feel all of the feels. This movie is about two college bound young adults who meet by chance and have one single day to spend together in New York City. These two strangers fall in love, all while knowing that one of them and their family is facing deportation on the following day. The movie starts off a bit slow, but stick with it – it’s so worth it!
Happy binge watching y’all! If you have any other reccs please feel free to leave them in the comments. We, too, are trying
and failing to have a dry January.
