It’s really hard to give af what we look like right now when we are literally required to stay inside, but practicing a little self care will help us all get through this. Being inundated with beauty products on social media, makes it hard to choose which ones to try even after sifting through Amazon reviews. I’m always searching for products I like on Amazon so I that I never have to leave the house to stay beautiful. Wow.. it’s starting to sound like maybe the quarantine life is right for me. Anyways, here’s a few of my favorites that are totally worth it!
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer And Volumizer Hot Air Brush
You have probably heard the hype on this one, but if you haven’t yet taken the plunge, do it. This thing should literally be called the miracle worker. I have wavy, frizzy hair that has always taken upwards of an hour to dry, straighten and look anywhere near presentable. The first time I used this it took less than 30 minutes and my coworker literally asked me if I had gotten a blowout when I walked in the office. I’ve made SO many people fall in love with this thing, you would think I’m part of a Revlon cult. My only complaint is that I wish they made a mini version of it because it’s too clunky for travel.
Belei Charcoal Balancing Mask
Did anyone else know that Amazon has their own beauty line? I stumbled across this mask on sale for $10 on black Friday and later realized it was part of Amazon’s affordable in-house line Belei. It makes my skin feel so moisturized and clean. I would definitely buy it again!
Himalayan Salt Body Scrub
Using a body scrub once a week is the secret to maintaining soft skin. I’m not sure how I first discovered this scrub, but I’ve been using it for the past couple of years and can’t live without it now. It smells good, leaves my skin glowing and is pink as an added bonus! Use it with a wash cloth or exfoliating glove. Pro tip: use it before going out in shorts during the summer for an extra sexy glow on your legs.
I’m not positive that this actually works, but it makes me feel so much better so in my book, it’s totally worth it. I keep mine in my fridge or freezer. It’s the perfect remedy for a puffy hungover face, after a hot workout or even just for an awakening boost midday – especially these days when working from home can make days feel longer than ever.
Kipozi Flat Iron
After a long ride with my Chi straightener, it finally broke about a year ago. It seemed the whole must-have ion ceramic whatever straightener days of the early 2000s were over and that now all flat irons claimed to do the same thing. I mean they are all going to damage our hair, so I just wanted a reliable affordable option this time. This flat iron came up in several searches and it has definitely done the trick for me so far!
Joico Blonde Life Brightening Oil
I’ll say it again, I have difficult hair that is especially frizzy. Living in a tropical climate, this means I definitely need product to help with smoothing, especially during the summer. This oil is made for blondes, but it can really be used on any hair color. It is perfect if you have blonde or highlights in your hair though. Other yellow tone oils will actually add a yellowy tint to your hair color while this one will keep it bright while smoothing frizz.
Mario Badescu Spritz Mist and Glow Facial Spray Collection
This is another product that I might not actually need, but I love having. In the morning these are great to incorporate into your skincare routine for an extra refreshing wake up and at night I like to use the lavender scent to help relax. These actually work really well to add a dewy look over makeup and as a makeup setting spray as well. The set also makes a really cute gift!
Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum
After reading for a while that a Vitamin C Serum was a must to incorporate into my skincare routine, but not wanting to drop the cash on an expensive serum, I found this one on Amazon for less than $20. I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and I like it because it’s organic so I trust the ingredients and it helps brighten and even your skin tone as well as with anti-aging.
On my wish list
I always keep a running list of products I read about that I want to try. The Glow recipe Avocado and Watermelon sleeping masks have been on my wish list for a while and I need to just pull the trigger! It’s said to plump and intensely moisturize overnight which sounds perfect for rejuvenating skin after a hangover or when you just need a boost os moisture. Another is the Drunk Elephant baby facial which I’ll have to rack up lots of Amazon points before treating myself to the $80 price tag. It’s been compared to the equivalent of a professional peel that resurfaces skin. If it’s really as good as a salon facial than maybe the price is well worth it.
