How to Plan A Stress Free Holiday Party

There’s still time to get all of your friends or family together this holiday season! With these easy steps you can throw together an impressive soirée that looks like you’ve been planning for months in no time.

Make your list, check it twice

The first step is to pull together a guest list. Who’s been naughty and who’s been nice this year? The naughty ones are going to regret missing this party!

Send out an email invite

Ok, there was a time where email invites were like so not cool and something only your mom would dare to send out, but hear us out. There are so many websites with the cutest ones that take basically zero effort now, we use them for everything. If you’re morally opposed to the email invite, a Facebook event will suffice.

Coordinate your food & libations

This is obviously the most important part of the party, but planning can be stressful. No one wants to be in the kitchen, constantly checking on the oven while trying to entertain. We just did that for Thanksgiving! Don’s Seafood catering is the answer to all of your holiday party planning anxiety. There’s no better way to do your holiday spread in Louisiana than with authentic Cajun favorites from Don’s Seafood and the best part is they make it so easy!

We started off our guests with spinach and artichoke dip, crawfish pies and boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce. The perfect hor d’oeuvres. Then we moved on to seafood gumbo, crawfish pasta, mac n’cheese and red beans & rice because who needs veggies during the holidays?

Everything was delivered warm and ready in containers so we didn’t have to worry about any setup or cleanup which was another huge relief.

It’s so much fun to have a signature cocktail at parties. Something seasonal that will get people in the spirit and serve as a warm greeting, but again, this can be hard work. Don’s helped us set up our very own Old Fashioned bar! It was so much fun to watch everyone make their Old Fashioned’s with their own twist.

Order Decorations

Ordering all of your decorations online is another huge stress saver. We mixed our Cajun theme with a Mean Girls holiday theme. Jingle Bell Rock talent show vibes anyone? It was easy to order everything we needed on Amazon from sparkly silver plates, cups and utensils to festive napkins, confetti and a customized banner! We even tied holiday tags to Candy Canes so our guests could have fun making their own Candy Cane grams.

Make a Playlist

A great playlist is key. You don’t want to be scrambling around trying to think of what to play when your guests arrive. We created the perfect mix of christmas songs along with our favorite hits. Check out our Jingle Bell Bash playlist and feel free to play it at your party!

Have Fun!

Duh. Getting all of these steps out of the way before your party will ensure that you have a holly jolly good time. We couldn’t have done it without Don’s Seafood. The catering package and cocktail set up were the hits of the party. Everyone was asking where the food was from and going back for seconds and thirds! The Old Fashioned bar was such a classy holiday touch.
