How to Pretend It’s Fall When It Feels Like Summer

We don’t know about you guys but we are beyond ready for fall. Sweaters, scarves, hot cider, and to state the obvious, a drop in temperature. But, we all know that we are still a bit far off from that in New Orleans. Who knows when we will be able to fully participate in the change of season. 😭 In the meantime, here are a few ways we can move on from summer without dying of a heat stroke because let’s be honest, we are #OverIt.

Drink Red Wine

If we look at another glass of rosé at this point, we are going to get a stomach ache. We are ready to drink all the comforting red vino. Luckily, it’s totally approps to break out the red while sitting on the couch watching Halloween movies in the AC. If you’d prefer to enjoy it outdoors, try getting a light red and chilling it. Yum! Or try a fall cocktail like Brandy Milk Punch.

Cook Something Fall Inspired

We get it, you probably aren’t in the mood yet to eat a big warm bowl of your homemade veggie soup yet, but you can still buy produce or use ingredients that are seasonal. Try this apple crisp next time you are in the mood to bake a dessert!

Wear Fall Colors

Even if you can’t wear your sweaters and scarves, you can still start rocking your fave fall shades whether it’s just a lipstick or a tee, or try pairing booties with a skirt. Burgundy and burnt orange, we are ready for you.

Light a Fall Candle

It doesn’t have to be pumpkin spice, but pick up something with a warmer less floral scent like vanilla, amber, fig, sage, or pine and light it when you’re in for the night. With these smells wafting through your house, you’ll get pumped for the season ahead.

Do Fall activities

Pumpkin patches, pumpkin carving, all of the things. Do a New Orleans version, and do something spooky and touristy like going on a tour of a cemetery, one of the city’s ghost tours or a haunted house.

Iced PSL?

Switch up your typical cold brew to something with a little fall flavor! If you aren’t a PSL fan, try an iced chai or adding cinnamon to your typical order.
