Itinerary: A Girl’s Weekend in New Orleans

The older we get, the harder it becomes to keep up and maintain relationships with our old friends. Lives move in different directions, people move away and move on. But, it’s so important to your overall happiness to maintain your female friendships. Science even says so!

Phone calls and sending each other funny memes via DM’s are great ways to stay in touch, but what’s even better is taking a weekend trip together at least once a year. Meet up in a destination, spend real quality time together, have fun and even check a place off of your bucket list!

There are so many great places to do this. We recently reunited in New Orleans for a summer girl’s weekend and had the best time.

Friday Night

Head to one of the city’s best restaurants for a dinner with just the two of you. Many restaurant’s feature specials for the summer. Arnaud’s Summer menu was a great way to check off a classic plus get a delicious meal at a great price! Plus it comes with a glass of rosé! What says girl time in the summer better than that?

Cheers to Rosé!

After dinner, hit up rooftop bar like Hot Tin for a nightcap and views, or if you would prefer to stay downtown, try swanky new French salon, Bar Marilou.

Saturday

High tea at Le Salon in the Windsor Court is the perfect place to spill all of your latest tea with your babe. The setup is beyond adorbs. We did the Prohibition tea which was so much fun! There were major Gatsby vibes and Prohibition style cocktails served with each course. If that’s not going on during your visit, check out their other themed teas.

In the afternoon, check out one of the city’s best spas like Belladonna or The Ritz-Carlton Spa for ultimate relaxation or to keep the party going head to a rooftop pool to enjoy sunshine and cocktails. If you want to squeeze in some retail therapy after, check out our New Orleans shopping guide.

For dinner, make a reservation at one of our favorites like Commander’s Palace or Jack Rose (chambongs anyone?!?!). For a taste of New Orleans eclectic food scene, try Saba or Saffron. Grab cocktails to finish off the night!

Sunday

Sundays are for brunching! There’s no better way to end the weekend than with brunch and a couple of goodbye cocktails before heading back home. We discovered the best brunch menu at Bar Frances. We had been there for cocktails before and thought it was so cute, but had no idea how amazing the brunch is!

Biscuits & fun cocktails!

You won’t regret choosing New Orleans to catch up with your best babe.
