Although I love a good date night with my fiancé, there’s nothing quite like a good girls’ night out with your babes! With Houston being so big, it’s hard sometimes to plan a GNO that doesn’t involve driving or spending too much money on Ubers.

Earlier this month, right before my bachelorette party, I discovered the perfect girls’ night itinerary in EaDo. East Downtown Houston has so much to offer, not only are all the major stadiums in the area, but there are also so many restaurants and bars are within walking distance of each other! It’s no wonder why EaDo is so hot right now.
Without further ado, start planning your girls’ night out with this fun East Downtown Houston itinerary,
Start with Cocktails at Miss Carrousel
Miss Carrousel is a fabulous cocktail bar in East Downtown. It’s a huge space with very comfortable furniture so you can bring all of the girls and hang out for a few hours before dinner. I loved their Margarita (one of the best I’ve had in the city!), as well as their Heavy Petting cocktail (gin-based).

Grab Dinner at Indianola
After a few cocktails, we were ready to eat! The best part? We didn’t have to go far – we literally just walked across a small hallway that connects Miss Carrousel to the restaurant. Indianola is a modern American fare restaurant that is open for lunch, dinner and brunch. As all Agricole Hospitality restaurants, the food is amazing and the service is superb. We decided to eat family style so we could try a bit of everything, our server made the most wonderful menu suggestions so we could try all the things + all of the desserts!
Some of our favorite dishes,
- Iron Skilled Cornbread
- Pull Apart Rolls (get them with the Spiced Honey Glaze)
- TX Chevre + Golden Beets Salad
- Crispy Brussel Sprouts
- Pumpernickel Crusted LA Catfish
- Coal Fired Half Chicken
We couldn’t pick a favorite out of all of the desserts (yes, we tried all of them). They’re all soooo good and you should also order all of them.

Bar Hop Around EaDo
We had to get up for an early flight to Cancun the following morning, so we didn’t get to bar hop, but I highly suggest you check out these spots after dinner (also walking distance):
- 8th Wonder Brewery
- Truck Yard (don’t forget to get on the Ferris Wheel)
- True Anomaly Brewing Company
- Sunset Rooftop Bar
Get a Late Night Snack at Vinny’s
Every girls night out should end with pizza and you can’t go to EaDo and not visit Vinny’s. Vinny’s makes NY-style pizza and serves them by the pie or by the slice. My fave is definitely the Maui Wowie but I’ll eat any slice of Vinny’s and be extremely happy. Vinny’s also delivers (and they deliver wine + beer), so in case you hop on the Uber back home before grabbing a pizza, you can always get it delivered.
Happy GNO, Babes! Can’t wait to tell you all about my bach…stay tuned.
xo,
