There’s something so wonderful about baking during the holiday season! Homemade sweets make the perfect gift for coworkers and friends. Of course, they are a great addition to any holiday party as well. Everyone loves these dream bars and they are so simple to make!
Ingredients
For the shortbread crust:
- 3 cups unsifted flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 sticks of butter cut into small pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
For the topping:
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 cup of pecans
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 can of condensed milk
Instructions
For the shortbread crust:
Place all of your dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut the butter into small pieces, and add them into the flour mixture.
Gently combine the flour and butter using your fingers until it resembles the texture of cornmeal.
Press the mixture firmly into a sheet pan, and bake at 350 for 20 minutes until the top is lightly browned. Let the crusts cool completely before moving on to the next step!
For the topping:
Distribute all of the ingredients on the cooled shortbread crust evenly, and then drizzle the can of condensed milk across all ingredients.
Place in the oven at 350 degrees and bake until the condensed milk begins to bubble and turns slightly brown. Remove them from the oven and let cool before cutting into squares.
Bag them up if you are taking them as gifts, or arrange them on your best holiday tray. Enjoy!
