It’s been a while since we’ve talked about our favorite places to happy hour in New Orleans. With our ever changing bar and restaurant scene, there are always new adds to this list and of course old faves that remain. Here’s to hoping fall weather will actually arrive soon so we can happy hour outside without melting!
Barracuda
3984 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans
It’s no secret that Barracuda put breakfast tacos on the map in New Orleans which honestly would have been enough. To make us love them even more, they recently added a happy hour from 3 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday – Friday as well as when the Saints are playing.
The happy hour drinks include a $5 classic margarita, $4 Micheladas, $3 Modelo, and $5 for red, white, or rosé house wine. The HH standout is the Deluxe Ballpark Style Nachos for $5 . YUM. There will also be specials on Queso & Chips, a Guacamole Tostada, and rotating special tacos and pitcher deals.
Loa
221 Camp St, New Orleans
This one isn’t a newbie, but honestly it’s kind of a best kept secret. You’re welcome for sharing! Cozy cocktail bar, Loa, is located in the International House Hotel in the CBD. They offer happy hour specials on Wednesday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., but honestly their rosé flights make us the happiest any day of the week. They also currently have a Banksy exhibit in the hotel which is a pretty awesome thing to be able to stroll over and check out, rosé in hand.
Bar Marilou
544 Carondelet St, New Orleans
Prepare to be transported to a Parisian speakeasy at one of the newest additions to the city, Bar Marilou, hidden aside the new Maison De La Luz hotel. Their Apertif Hour from 4-6 p.m. includes seven different aperitifs for $7 as well as a couple of other cocktail and snack options.
Cavan
3607 Magazine St, New Orleans
Sitting on the porch sipping a martini and snacking at Cavan while people watching on Magazine Street is one of our favorite past times. The best part of their HH? It goes until 7 p.m. You may even have time to freshen up between work and getting boozy! They offer 1/2 off house spirits, $6 house wines, $4 local beers, select cocktails for $6 and discounted apps.
Hot Tin
2031 St Charles Ave, New Orleans
This one is sliding in despite the fact that we aren’t sure if they have an actual happy hour. We just know we love hanging out here for cocktails whether it’s during happy hour or afterward. The beautiful bar always attracts a cool vibe and their rooftop overlooking the city and delicious cocktails are added bonuses at Hot Tin.
The Franklin
2600 Dauphine St, New Orleans
The trendy Bywater bar and restaurant is one of our favorite’s in this part of town. The Franklin‘s happy hour is from 5-7 p.m. every day and features cocktails, draft beers and wines plus yummy snacks like the duck liver mousse and smoked fish rillette.
Delechaise
3442 St Charles Ave, New Orleans
It’s always happy hour at Delechaise with $5 house wines all the time! When the weather’s warm, their frosé HH is where it’s at from 12pm-5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Don’t forget about the duck fat fries!
Compere Lapin
535 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans
We love walking over to grab drinks and bites at Compere Lapin after a long day at work. The woman-owned Caribbean restaurant remains one of the best in the CBD. Their happy hour is Monday – Friday from 3- 6 p.m. and features lots of yummy creations by Head Bartender Jordan Deis.
Claret
1320 Magazine St, New Orleans
Claret Wine & Cocktail Bar has quickly become a place to be in the LGD. It’s not surprising because the food, wine, cocktails & atmosphere are all on the point. The best part about their HH? It’s on weekends too! Find small plates, house punch, house wine & speciality cocktails for $6-$7 Monday- Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Columns
3811 St Charles Ave, New Orleans
The Columns is always our go-to when visitors are in town. The historic hotel is an unmistakably classic New Orleans experience with a beautiful front porch overlooking Saint Charles Avenue. Their happy hour is 7 days a week from 5-7 p.m. featuring beer, wine, martinis and cocktails at reduced prices.
Pascal Manales
1838 Napoleon Ave, New Orleans
This traditional New Orleans neighborhood restaurant is known for their barbeque shrimp and New Orleans Italian fare. But, the real secret as Manale‘s is the oyster bar where succulent Gulf oysters are half-price Monday – Friday from 3 – 6 p.m. There’s nothing quite like standing at the oyster bar and chat with shucker “Uptown T” while sipping a sazerac. You’ll leave happy & buzzed 😉
SoBou
310 Chartres St, New Orleans
SoBou has been our go-to in the French Quarter for happy hour for as long as we can remember. Their Happier Hour features snacks and sips for $3-$6 everyday from 3-6 p.m.!
Bar Frances
4525 Freret St, New Orleans
We love this chic little Freret Street wine bar and restaurant, and we really love that their happy hour is daily! Specials on bites like the whipped feta (drool) and drinks are offered Sunday -Wednesday from 4-7p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 4 – 6p.m. at Bar Frances.
Copper Vine
1001 Poydras St, New Orleans
Wines on tap are reason enough to get excited, but this wine “pub” is so much more. The beautiful space is made for the ‘gram and perfectly located for after work meet ups on Poydras Street. The Copper Vine happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. Monday – Friday features specially priced wine and cheese boards.
