Maybe you acquired a nice shoulder burn at Jazz Fest, but it’s time to hit the pools and get a summer glow on those legs.
Although we are not too far from several bodies of water, sometimes it’s difficult to get away for a beach weekend, or we don’t have friends with boats (re-evaluating our lives). If you are stuck in the city, don’t fret! There are still so many places to get your tan on. Here are a few of our favorite pools to tan with our babes.
The Chloe
4125 St Charles Avenue
Not only is The Chloe an amazing to grab brunch or happy hour, but their pool is open for daily swim sessions from 11 am to sunset for $25/per person for non-hotel guests. Spots at lounge chairs and tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Pool Club The Virgin Hotel
550 Baronne Street
The Pool Club at The Virgin Hotel is one of the newest and coolest rooftop pools in town. Hotel guests get priority at the pool, and non-hotel guests can lounge Monday through Thursday with the purchase of a Pool Pass. Locals can also book poolside sofas for up to 6 guests with a food & beverage purchase minimum.
Above the Grid at NOPSI
317 Baronne Street
Above the Grid pool and bar at the NOPSI is a great place to relax poolside with a glass of champagne. The view is unbelievable, and the sunshine hits their rooftop perfectly all day making for the perfect place to get extra bronze. Day passes start at $50 and can be purchased on ResortPass.
Alto at the Ace Hotel
600 Carondelet Street
We hate to state the obvious, but if you haven’t been to Alto at the Ace on a sunny weekend afternoon, you are missing out. It’s not really the place to cannonball into the swimming pool, or swim laps, but if you are satisfied with a frozen drink in hand, bikini on, and legs in the pool, this is the place for you. Day passes can be booked on Resy from 11:00AM-till close for $40 per person and 3:00 PM-till close for $30 per person.

The Country Club
634 Louisa Street
Go for the brunch, and stay for the pool. Located in the Bywater, The Country Club has been a local favorite swimming hole for decades. Clothing is no longer optional (sigh), but that doesn’t mean you won’t have just as much of a fun time. The cabana bar is fully stocked! Book day passes for $20 per day, and annual memberships for $450.
The Roosevelt New Orleans
130 Roosevelt Way
The rooftop pool at The Roosevelt Hotel is the most luxurious in town. It’s not generally open to non-guests, but if you are willing to drop some cash, you can rent a cabana for the day which is not so bad when split between a group.
The Drifter Hotel
3522 Tulane Avenue
Reminiscent of a funky hotel in Palm Springs, The Drifter is always a party. Bikini tops are optional, and wigs and leather speedos are encouraged. Pool sessions start at $10 and can be booked here.
Your Friend’s CBD Apartment
It’s time to hit up that friend with the downtown apartment. Many of the apartments and condos downtown are equipped with a rooftop pool. From 930 Poydras, to The Paramount, The Woodward, Four Winds and so many more – you’ve got to know someone or someone who knows someone who lives in one of these places. An even better friend might lend you the code to the gate for the day (wink;).
