I may not have many artistic talents, but I would say I have a gift for finding cheap flights! A few months ago, using my Southwest Credit Card points + taking advantage of their Fall Sale, I snagged two $11 tickets to Denver (leaving Saturday at 6AM and landing back in Houston on Sunday at 1AM). For those of you who aren’t able to take off as much as they would like, or have dogs (or kids) they need to board, I would say this is the perfect trip length! You’ll get a lot done, and get to enjoy much needed hotel time as well.

I’ve loved Magnolia Hotels since my Houston staycation back in August, and had been wanting to check out another one of their properties. I was very excited to learn that they had a Denver hotel and it was at the top of my list when planning this getaway!
Housed in the former American National Bank in Downtown, is just a 10-minute stroll from Denver Union Station and 0.8 miles from Denver Art Museum (skip the Ubers, y’all – it’s so easy to get around to and from this hotel)!

The Magnolia Hotel Denver was restored to reflect the building’s original original appearance, which was built in 1910. The hotel has original architectural masonry details and features an exterior clock that alludes to 17th Street’s past, AKA the “wall street of the west.”

Now let’s talk about the rooms!
As with other Magnolia Hotels, you’ll find the rooms at the Denver property to be modern, chic and functional. Our suite had 2 flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and a coffeemaker, we also had a fabulous living area and kitchenette.

Food options? There’s plenty of them,
Harry’s is a a historic local restaurant offering casual eats in a sophisticated setting with a seasonal menu of small plates and entrees. Our first eating stop during this trip was breakfast at Harry’s and we were blown away by their dishes! The hotel also has room service at virtually all hours of the day, and you cannot miss their signature nightly temptation of fresh, house-made cookies from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.

My stay at the Magnolia Hotel in Denver could not have been more perfect, I even got a fabulous view of snow falling on the Denver skyline when I woke up on Sunday morning.

I cannot wait to check out more of their hotels, I’m definitely still thinking about those cookies!
XO,
